Cris Reisert enters his fourth season as Head Football Coach at Tiffin University in 2022-23. Reisert has a career mark of 23-5 over three seasons. Tiffin officially claimed the conference championship title in 2020 with a perfect 6-0 mark, playing a spring season due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Reisert earned his second consecutive Great Midwest Coach of the Year honor with an undefeated run through the league standings to officially make it back-to-back trophies. The GMAC crown in 2020 is the fourth conference championship in program history, and second as a member of Division II. The Dragons had also won the conference trophy in 2019 while qualifying for the NCAA Championship Super Region 1 bracket. During the 2019 campaign, Reisert led the Dragons to arguably the best season in program history. Tiffin finished the regular season 9-1 along with a perfect 7-0 mark in GMAC play to claim the conference title. As a result, the Dragons earned their first-ever berth into the NCAA DII playoffs and came extremely close to upsetting the 2-seed in the region, Kutztown, on the road in the first round.
Tiffin's offense was among the best in the country, ranking fifth in DII in total offense (507.8 ypg) and seventh in scoring offense (43.2 ppg). The rushing attack was 15th nationally at 245.5 ypg, while the passing offense ranked 32nd in the country at 262.3 ypg. On the defensive side, the Dragons led the GMAC in total defense and were second in scoring defense, while ranking 17th nationally in interceptions with 16 on the year. Tiffin also boasted a national top-25 turnover margin of +.82 and was fourth in the nation with 26.72 yards per kickoff return.
